About Natural Choice Midwifery

How do I get started?

Schedule a complimentary consultation on our website to see if Natural-Choice Midwifery is the right fit for you and your family. You have the option of scheduling an in-person, video, or phone consultation. When you are ready to schedule your initial visit, print the initial client paperwork (listed in Documents), complete each document, and bring them with you.

How soon should I be seen?

Clients are normally seen between 10-12 weeks of pregnancy. If you have concerns or would like to be seen sooner, we can absolutely schedule an earlier time.

How much does a consultation cost?

Your 30-minute consultation is free! We’ll discuss your goals, evaluate whether you are low risk, and whether we’ll be a good fit.

How often will I been seen for my prenatal visits?

We will meet with you every four weeks until your 28th week of pregnancy. After that, appointments are every two weeks until you’re 36 weeks along where we’ll transition to once a week until baby arrives! Additional appointments can be scheduled if concerns arise.

Who will attend the birth?

Your primary midwife and secondary midwife/trained professional (who you will meet during your 36-week prenatal visit) will attend your birth. This will be in addition to those you select for your personal support team.

What kind of equipment will you bring with you to the birth?

We carry a fetal doppler to monitor baby’s heart rate during labor, oxygen tanks with adult masks, neonatal resuscitation equipment, anti-hemorrhagic drugs in case of bleeding, eye prophylaxis, sterile instruments, and other medical supplies.

What supplies are needed for the birth and where can I get them?

Your supply list will be provided via email, and the link to the birth kit is located on the documents page of the website.

Do you take insurance?

Yes, we take all insurance plans and bill out of network. For your convenience, our billing department information will be provided.

Can I do a water birth?

Yes! Most women prefer and benefit from the effects of a supported water birth. Equipment is included.

What do you think about doulas?

We love doulas! Since we are on call during your birth and usually arrive after you start active labor, it is beneficial to have a trained support professional (doula) with you during the earlier stages.
